Welcome to R & J Riverbrook Farm!
We’re a husband and wife team with a mission of making our corner of the world a little greener. We both grew up in the Pacific NW immersed in land stewardship through gardening and animal husbandry. Our married life took us to the city where we experienced the other side of our rural upbringing. While we did enjoy many of the city’s bright lights, there was a longing to reconnect with the land. That longing put us on the path back to nature.
In 1998 we landed in the Che’halem Valley of Newberg, OR on 29 acres of unseated Kalapuya Land. It is here that our story unfolds.
Back on the land, we reconnected with the sacredness and rhythm of a slower pace. Jason with his heart for service and gift of his hands, built barns, fences, created spaces to grow food and we acquired farm animals. Each new day brought us into a deeper relationship with the beauty and reciprocity of the living world.
In 2014 with an abundance of fresh goat milk from our growing herd of Nigerians and with a passion for the plants, Rebecca set out to create a line of clean body care products. She is an alchemist, turning the milk from her goats into creamy, confections for the skin. She tends and wildcrafts medicinal plants, transforming their goodness into serums and salves. Her passion for creating clean skincare pours over in her desire to teach others her craft through classes she offers on the website.
Her life long love of the the Plants has earned her two certifications in Herbal Medicine which she hopes to share in the near future.
It is in this ebb and flow of reciprocity, the generous outpouring of the natural world that our mission to share the gifts of our small farm emerges . We grow, tend and source local ingredients for our product line and each bar of soap or hand crafted herbal product is made in small batches, from our hands to you.
